Study: Ketamine provides rapid relief for depression
A meta-analysis of 8 randomized controlled trials that included a total of 183 people with depression or bipolar disorder found that a single dose ketamine, whether IV or intranasal, led to a rapid reduction of depressive symptoms that lasted for up to 7 days. The medication appeared to be more effective for unipolar depression than bipolar depression.
